I'm a professor of law at Notre Dame Law School. I was formerly a professor of law at Pepperdine University School of Law and at the University of Iowa College of Law. I began my teaching career as a visiting assistant professor and Shughart Scholar at Penn State Law. I was a litigation associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago, and a clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. My research interests primarily concern federalism and election law. This blog most frequently touches upon legal education and the legal profession. My faculty biography is here.
